5 Activities to do in Whistler, which aren't Skiing/Snowboarding

Updated: Nov 17, 2020

Find the list on my YouTube Channel - with an extra activity ;)

Axe throwing - Forged Axe, Function Junction

We went as a big group, near the end of the winter season. But it is open all year round. Honestly, so fun and quite scary (in a good way). I was terrible at it, but I still enjoyed myself. They teach you the techniques at the start of the hour and then you do different challenges, it really brings out peoples competitive side!

Snowmobiling - Canadian Wilderness Adventures

The MOST fun I have ever had on snow!!! I cannot stress how amazing snowmobiling is. If you have ever been jet skiing, this is definitely for you. The snowmobile is easy to control if you follow your instructors directions! This is not something you should be doing, if you cannot follow directions. Ironically, the faster you go the more in control you feel!

Snowshoe - Lost Lake, Whistler

There are so many trails around lost lake, that even though you are so close to the village it literally feels like you are nowhere near civilisation. It also means that you barely see another soul when doing these trails. Even though the trails themselves are quite trodden down, you can tell it would be fun after a heavy dump of snow! The shoes themselves are so easy to walk in, but don't try to walk backwards, you will fall, as me and my parents discovered, several times.

Tubing - Coca Cola Tube Park, Blackcomb Mountain

The concept is very similar to sledding, but WAY more fun. You sit yourself in a massive ring (like one you get in a water park) and you slide down different gradients on 'slopes'. You only get one hour, but that is enough time to do each of the slopes at least once (and do at least one slope twice). It is one of the outdoor winter activities which is better the more icier it is.

Ziplining - Ziptrek

You see so many different parts of the mountain you wouldn't normally. Ziplines are longer than you expect and definitely more fun! You do have to do a bit of walking in the snow to go between ziplines but it is so worth it. They also give you history and information on how they are helping the environment. We went on the Eagle adventure, which I would definitely recommend!

Stay safe out there

Love from,

Kesvi
